**Tom Bell** (born 8 January 1981 in [Nottingham](/source/Nottingham)) is an English comedy actor, and a creature and droid performer in the *[Star Wars](/source/Star_Wars)* franchise.

He has played a range of roles in the topical [BBC](/source/BBC) comedy show *[The Mash Report](/source/The_Mash_Report)* and its [Dave](/source/Dave_(TV_channel)) continuation *[Late Night Mash](/source/Late_Night_Mash)*,[1] portrayed the recurring character Jathro in *[Wizards vs Aliens](/source/Wizards_vs_Aliens)* and played Ubdurian alien Prashee in *[Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens](/source/Star_Wars%3A_The_Force_Awakens)*.

## Career

He began his career as one half of the sketch duo Tommy and the Weeks opposite [Ed Weeks](/source/Ed_Weeks). Weeks was president of [Cambridge Footlights](/source/Footlights) while Bell was vice-president.[2] Other work includes a long-running series of adverts as one of the [118 118](/source/118_118_(UK)) men, shows on community arts radio station [Resonance FM](/source/Resonance_FM), Lord Fear in the stage production [Knightmare Live](/source/Knightmare_(TV_series)#Knightmare_Live),[3] numerous appearances with [The Alternative Comedy Memorial Society](/source/The_Alternative_Comedy_Memorial_Society) and the one-man show Tom Bell Begins.[4]

He appeared as himself in the fourth season of the [Matt Damon](/source/Matt_Damon) and [Ben Affleck](/source/Ben_Affleck) reality series *[Project Greenlight](/source/Project_Greenlight)*, charting the developing of the [HBO](/source/HBO) film *[The Leisure Class](/source/The_Leisure_Class)* in which Bell stars with Weeks.[2]
