# Tom Barrington

**George Thomas Barrington** (January 29, 1944 – November 8, 2002) was an American [football](/source/American_football) [running back](/source/Running_back) in the [National Football League](/source/National_Football_League) (NFL) for the [Washington Redskins](/source/Washington_Commanders) and [New Orleans Saints](/source/New_Orleans_Saints). He played [college football](/source/College_football) at [Ohio State University](/source/Ohio_State_University) and was [drafted](/source/NFL_draft) in the third round of the [1966 NFL draft](/source/1966_NFL_draft). Barrington was also selected in the sixteenth round of the [1966 AFL draft](/source/1966_American_Football_League_draft) by the [Kansas City Chiefs](/source/Kansas_City_Chiefs).
