**Todd Waring** (born April 28, 1955) is an American actor, best known for replacing [Tom Hanks](/source/Tom_Hanks) in the roles in both the television series version of *[Nothing in Common](/source/Nothing_in_Common)*,[1][2] as well as *[Splash, Too](/source/Splash%2C_Too)*.

## Early life

Waring was born in [Ballston Spa, New York](/source/Ballston_Spa%2C_New_York).

## Career

Waring has played minor roles in various films and television series, including *[The Stiller and Meara Show](/source/The_Stiller_and_Meara_Show)*,[3] *[Wings](/source/Wings_(NBC_TV_series))* and *[Star Trek: Deep Space Nine](/source/Star_Trek%3A_Deep_Space_Nine)*. On *[NYPD Blue](/source/NYPD_Blue)*, he portrayed Malcolm Cullinan in a story arc as a rich man who committed murder.
