# Titan language

**Titan**, also known as **Manus**, is an [East Manus language](/source/East_Manus_languages) of the [Austronesian language family](/source/Austronesian_languages) spoken in the southeastern part of [Manus Island](/source/Manus_Island), [New Guinea](/source/New_Guinea), and neighboring islands by about 4,000 people.

Titan has a [bilabial trill](/source/Bilabial_trill) and [prenasalized consonants](/source/Prenasalized_consonant), as in [ⁿrakeiʔin] 'girls' and [ᵐʙutukei] 'wooden plate'.

Consonant sounds in parentheses are only inferred to exist in Titan, or to exist in other dialects of Titan.

An /e/ sound may also be interchangeable with an open-mid sound /ɛ/.[1]
