# Tistrup

**Tistrup** is a town in southwestern [Jutland](/source/Jutland) in the [Varde Municipality](/source/Varde_Municipality), in [Region of Southern Denmark](/source/Region_of_Southern_Denmark). As of 1 January 2025, it has a population of 1,437.[1]

Tistrup is served by [Tistrup railway station](/source/Tistrup_railway_station), located on the [Esbjerg-Struer railway line](/source/Esbjerg-Struer_railway_line).[2][3]

Interest in archaeology in the late 19th century records excavations for buried relics near Tistrup, by Captain A. P. Madsen, of the *Museum of Northern Antiquities* [4]
