The village is located on the southern end of the [Nes](/source/Nes%2C_Innlandet) peninsula, along the shores of the lake [Mjøsa](/source/Mj%C3%B8sa). There is a bridge from Tingnes to the island of [Helgøya](/source/Helg%C3%B8ya%2C_Innlandet) to the south.
