**Tina Cecilia Elisabeth Nordlund** (born 19 March 1977) is a [Swedish](/source/Swedes) [football](/source/Association_football) coach and former player, most recently an assistant coach at [Umeå IK](/source/Ume%C3%A5_IK).[3] She is one of the most well known Swedish female footballers. In November 2000, she was awarded the [Diamantbollen](/source/Diamantbollen), an annual award made to the best female player in Sweden, during the [Swedish Soccer Awards](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fotbollsgalan_2000&action=edit&redlink=1), and during her speech she expressed her thoughts that women's soccer received too little media publicity.[4][5] She played for [Alnö IF](/source/Aln%C3%B6_IF), [Sundsvalls DFF](/source/Sundsvalls_DFF) and Umeå IK.[3] She retired from playing football aged 25 after suffering from [anorexia nervosa](/source/Anorexia_nervosa).[6]

In her youth years she, except for playing soccer, also practiced [alpine skiing](/source/Alpine_skiing), [bandy](/source/Bandy), [basketball](/source/Basketball) and [golf](/source/Golf).[7]

## Club career

After the 1998 season, Nordlund approached English [FA Women's Premier League](/source/FA_Women's_Premier_League) club [Tranmere Rovers](/source/Tranmere_Rovers_L.F.C.) about playing for them in [1998–99](/source/1998%E2%80%9399_FA_Women's_Premier_League). At the time she was visiting boyfriend [Jesper Blomqvist](/source/Jesper_Blomqvist), who was contracted to [Manchester United](/source/Manchester_United_F.C.).[8][9]

Making her debut in a 4–0 win over champions and local rivals [Everton](/source/Everton_F.C._(women)) in December 1998, Nordlund remained until 1 February 1999. She then returned to Umeå IK in order to preserve her national team place ahead of the [1999 FIFA Women's World Cup](/source/1999_FIFA_Women's_World_Cup).[10]

## International career

After winning eight [caps](/source/Cap_(sport)) at Under 17 level and 19 Under 21 caps, Nordlund made her senior [Sweden](/source/Sweden_women's_national_football_team) debut in a 3–1 defeat by the [United States](/source/United_States_women's_national_soccer_team) at [Baylor School](/source/Baylor_School), [Chattanooga, Tennessee](/source/Chattanooga%2C_Tennessee), on 30 October 1997.[11] Her 9th-minute goal against [Denmark](/source/Denmark_women's_national_football_team) in the Semi-Final of the [2001 UEFA Women's Euro](/source/UEFA_Women's_Euro_2001#Semi-finals) proved to be the deciding goal of the match, propelling Sweden to the Final.[12]

## Personal life

Nordlund appeared in the 2006 Swedish comedy film *[Offside](/source/Offside_(2006_Swedish_film))*, as a football player. She is a [Lazio](/source/S.S._Lazio) supporter.[13]

She has been married to Swedish television presenter [Martin Björk](/source/Martin_Bj%C3%B6rk).
