**Timothy Beck** (born 2 January 1977 in [Assen](/source/Assen)) is a Dutch [sprinter](/source/Sprint_(running)). Together with [Caimin Douglas](/source/Caimin_Douglas), [Patrick van Balkom](/source/Patrick_van_Balkom) and [Troy Douglas](/source/Troy_Douglas) he won a [bronze medal](/source/Bronze_medal) in the [4 x 100 metres relay](/source/4_x_100_metres_relay) at the [2003 World Championships in Athletics](/source/2003_World_Championships_in_Athletics). With the same team he also participated in the [4 x 100 meters relay](/source/Athletics_at_the_2004_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_4_%C3%97_100_metres_relay) at the [2004 Summer Olympics](/source/2004_Summer_Olympics), but due to a mistake in the changing area they did not advance from the series.

Beck also competed as a [bobsledder](/source/Bobsleigh) in the [2002 Winter Olympics](/source/2002_Winter_Olympics) in [Salt Lake City](/source/Salt_Lake_City), where he finished in seventeenth position in the Four Men's Bob. He carried the [Dutch flag](/source/Flag_of_the_Netherlands) at the opening ceremony of the [2010 Winter Olympics](/source/2010_Winter_Olympics). He is of African-American descent.[1]
