Grayson was a member of the [Concord](/source/Concord%2C_California) [City Council](/source/City_Council) before successfully running for the [California State Assembly](/source/California_State_Assembly) in November 2016. Although once a [Republican](/source/Republican_Party_(United_States)), he switched parties upon making a bid for Assembly.
Grayson represented the [14th Assembly District](/source/California's_14th_State_Assembly_district) from 2016 to 2022, and the [15th Assembly District](/source/California's_15th_State_Assembly_district) - which encompasses parts of the [East Bay](/source/East_Bay_(San_Francisco_Bay_Area)) and the [North Bay](/source/North_Bay_(San_Francisco_Bay_Area)), including [Concord](/source/Concord%2C_California), [Pittsburg](/source/Pittsburg%2C_California), and [Pleasant Hill](/source/Pleasant_Hill%2C_California) - from 2022 to 2024.[{{cite web |title=Biography {{!}} Official Website - Assemblymember Timothy S.
