**Timothy John Elko** (born December 27, 1998) is an American professional [baseball](/source/Baseball) [first baseman](/source/First_baseman) in the [Chicago White Sox](/source/Chicago_White_Sox) organization. He made his [Major League Baseball](/source/Major_League_Baseball) (MLB) debut in 2025.

## Career

Elko attended [Hillsborough High School](/source/Hillsborough_High_School_(Florida)) in [Tampa, Florida](/source/Tampa%2C_Florida),[1] and the [University of Mississippi](/source/University_of_Mississippi), where he played [college baseball](/source/College_baseball) for the [Ole Miss Rebels](/source/Ole_Miss_Rebels_baseball). Elko was a member of the Rebels' [2022 National Championship team](/source/2022_Ole_Miss_Rebels_baseball_team).[2] In 2019 and 2020, Elko played [collegiate summer baseball](/source/Collegiate_summer_baseball) for the [Fond du Lac Dock Spiders](/source/Fond_du_Lac_Dock_Spiders) of the [Northwoods League](/source/Northwoods_League).[3]

The [Chicago White Sox](/source/Chicago_White_Sox) selected Elko in the tenth round of the [2022 Major League Baseball draft](/source/2022_Major_League_Baseball_draft).[4] After signing with the team, he was assigned to the [Rookie-level](/source/Rookie-level) [Arizona Complex League White Sox](/source/Arizona_Complex_League_White_Sox) and was later promoted to the [Single-A](/source/Single-A) [Kannapolis Cannon Ballers](/source/Kannapolis_Cannon_Ballers).[5] Elko returned to Kannapolis at the beginning of the 2023 season and hit .297 with 17 home runs and 57 RBI in 66 games before earning a promotion to the [High-A](/source/High-A) [Winston-Salem Dash](/source/Winston-Salem_Dash).[6] He batted .319 over 31 games with Winston-Salem before being promoted a second time to the [Birmingham Barons](/source/Birmingham_Barons) of the [Double-A](/source/Double-A_(baseball)) [Southern League](/source/Southern_League_(1964%E2%80%932020)).[7] Elko started the 2024 season with Birmingham and was promoted to the Triple–A [Charlotte Knights](/source/Charlotte_Knights) after batting .289 with nine home runs over 91 games.[8]

On May 10, 2025, Elko was selected to the [40-man roster](/source/40-man_roster) and promoted to the major leagues for the first time.[9] The following day, he hit his first career home run off of [Sandy Alcántara](/source/Sandy_Alc%C3%A1ntara) of the [Miami Marlins](/source/2025_Miami_Marlins_season).[10] Elko made 23 appearances for the White Sox during his rookie campaign, batting .134/.194/.328 with four home runs, eight RBI, and one stolen base. On October 29, it was announced that Elko would miss at least eight months after undergoing surgery to address a [torn ACL](/source/Anterior_cruciate_ligament_injury) in his right knee.[11] On November 21, he was non-tendered by Chicago and became a free agent.[12]

On December 14, 2025, Elko re-signed with the White Sox on a minor league contract.[13]
