**Tim Dalton** (born 14 October 1965) is an Irish former [footballer](/source/Association_football).

## Career

During his career he played for [Coventry City](/source/Coventry_City), [Bournemouth](/source/Bournemouth), [Notts County](/source/Notts_County)[1] and later moved to [Boston United](/source/Boston_United), [Bradford City](/source/Bradford_City), [Tranmere Rovers](/source/Tranmere_Rovers),[2] [Cork City](/source/Cork_City) and [Derry City FC](/source/Derry_City_FC) of the [League of Ireland](/source/League_of_Ireland), where he won an Irish [domestic treble](/source/Treble_(association_football)) in 1989,[3] [Airdrie United](/source/Airdrie_United) and [Gillingham FC](/source/Gillingham_FC), and also with [Institute](/source/Institute_F.C.).

After retiring from playing he began a coaching career as a goalkeeper coach. He has worked with numerous League of Ireland teams: [St Patrick's Athletic](/source/St_Patrick's_Athletic) (2003–04; 2011–12), [Dublin City](/source/Dublin_City_F.C.) (2005–06), [Drogheda United](/source/Drogheda_United) (2006–08) and [Cork City](/source/Cork_City_Football_Club) (2009), and [Shamrock Rovers](/source/Shamrock_Rovers) (2009–11).

He represented his country at the 1984 [UEFA European Under-19 Football Championships](/source/UEFA_European_Under-19_Football_Championship), the [League of Ireland](/source/League_of_Ireland) once in 1990 and the [Irish League](/source/IFA_Premiership) once in 1995. Retired from coaching [Shamrock Rovers](/source/Shamrock_Rovers), and the Irish Schoolboys U15s in 2015.
