'''Tihun''' is a small rural town  in [Sogbini Chiefdom](/source/Sogbini_Chiefdom), [Bonthe District](/source/Bonthe_District) in the [Southern Province](/source/Southern_Province%2C_Sierra_Leone) of [Sierra Leone](/source/Sierra_Leone). Tihun is the [chieftaincy](/source/chieftaincy) seat of Sogbini Chiefdom and is about ten miles to the main commercial town of [Mattru Jong](/source/Mattru_Jong). The major economic activity in Tihun is [farming](/source/farming). Tihun is the native home of the [Sherbro people](/source/Sherbro_people) who are the vast majority in the town. Tihun is the [birthplace](/source/birthplace) of Sierra Leone's president   [Julius Maada Bio](/source/Julius_Maada_Bio).
