'''Three Man Army''' was a British [hard rock](/source/hard_rock) band active in the first half of the 1970s.

==History==
The group was formed by [Adrian Gurvitz](/source/Adrian_Gurvitz) and [Paul Gurvitz](/source/Paul_Gurvitz), formerly of [the Gun](/source/The_Gun_(band)). Following that band's dissolution, Adrian played with [Buddy Miles](/source/Buddy_Miles) and Paul played with [Parrish & Gurvitz](/source/Parrish_%26_Gurvitz), then reunited as Three Man Army. Their debut album, ''A Third of a Lifetime'', featured both Buddy Miles, as well as [Mike Kellie](/source/Mike_Kellie) (from [Spooky Tooth](/source/Spooky_Tooth)). [Tony Newman](/source/Tony_Newman_(drummer)), who had previously played with [Sounds Incorporated](/source/Sounds_Incorporated) and [Jeff Beck](/source/Jeff_Beck), joined for the group's next two albums, and a fourth album was recorded but not released until 2005. Newman then left to play with [David Bowie](/source/David_Bowie), and the Gurvitzes united with [Ginger Baker](/source/Ginger_Baker) as the [Baker Gurvitz Army](/source/Baker_Gurvitz_Army).
