# Thompson Lantion

**Thompson Lantion** is a Filipino retired police officer and current [Bases Conversion and Development Authority](/source/Bases_Conversion_and_Development_Authority) (BCDA) chairman. He is also the current secretary-general of the [Partido Federal ng Pilipinas](/source/Partido_Federal_ng_Pilipinas).

## Police career

Graduate of [Philippine Military Academy](/source/Philippine_Military_Academy) class of 1973 (with retired army general and former [Secretary](/source/Secretary_of_National_Defense_(Philippines)) of [National Defense](/source/Department_of_National_Defense_(Philippines)) [Delfin Lorenzana](/source/Delfin_Lorenzana) as one of his batchmate),[1][2] Lantion worked as the regional director of the Cagayan Valley Regional Police Office,[3][4] directorate for police community relations,[5] and with directorate for research and development.[6]

## Government career

After retiring, Lantion served as [DOTC](/source/Department_of_Transportation_(Philippines)) Spokesperson (from 2003),[7] and undersecretary for maritime transport until June 2010.[8] He also served as chairman of [Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board](/source/Land_Transportation_Franchising_and_Regulatory_Board).[5]

He later served as secretary general of the [Partido Federal ng Pilipinas](/source/Partido_Federal_ng_Pilipinas).[1]

On September 9, 2024, Lantion was appointed by president and his partymate [Bongbong Marcos](/source/Bongbong_Marcos) to be the chairman of the [Bases Conversion and Development Authority](/source/Bases_Conversion_and_Development_Authority), replacing his batchmate Lorenzana.[1][9]
