# Thomas Ram

**Thomas Ram** (1564 – 1634) was an [Anglican](/source/Anglican) priest in the early seventeenth century.[1]

Born at [Windsor](/source/Windsor,_Berkshire), he was educated at [Eton](/source/Eton_College) and [King's College, Cambridge](/source/King's_College,_Cambridge).[2] He was appointed Chaplain to [Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex](/source/Robert_Devereux,_2nd_Earl_of_Essex) the [Lord Lieutenant of Ireland](/source/Lord_Lieutenant_of_Ireland) in 1599;[3] [Vicar choral](/source/Vicar_choral) of [Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin](/source/Christ_Church_Cathedral,_Dublin) in 1600;[4] [Dean of Cork](/source/Dean_of_Cork) in 1601;[5] [Dean of Ferns](/source/Dean_of_Ferns) in 1604;[6] and [Bishop of Ferns and Leighlin](/source/Bishop_of_Ferns_and_Leighlin) in 1605.[7]

He died in Dublin on 24 November 1634.[8]
