**Thomas R. Tritton** was the twelfth president of [Haverford College](/source/Haverford_College), serving from 1997 to 2007. After his presidency, he served as president in residence at the [Harvard Graduate School of Education](/source/Harvard_Graduate_School_of_Education). From 2008 to 2013, he served as president and CEO of the [Chemical Heritage Foundation](/source/Chemical_Heritage_Foundation).[1] [2]

Tritton graduated from [Ohio Wesleyan University](/source/Ohio_Wesleyan_University) in 1969. He earned a [Ph.D.](/source/Ph.D.) in biophysical [chemistry](/source/Chemistry) from [Boston University](/source/Boston_University) in 1973, and was a [faculty](/source/Faculty_(teaching_staff)) member for 12 years each at [Yale University](/source/Yale_University) and the [University of Vermont](/source/University_of_Vermont).[3]
