**Thomas Paulsamy** is the serving Bishop of the [Roman Catholic Diocese of Dindigul](/source/Roman_Catholic_Diocese_of_Dindigul), India. He is the second bishop of the diocese.[1][2][3][4]

## Early life and education

He was born on 2 August 1954 in [N. Poolampatty](https://ta.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%AE%A8._%E0%AE%AA%E0%AF%82%E0%AE%B2%E0%AE%BE%E0%AE%AE%E0%AF%8D%E0%AE%AA%E0%AE%9F%E0%AF%8D%E0%AE%9F%E0%AE%BF), [Diocese of Tiruchy](/source/Roman_Catholic_Diocese_of_Tiruchirapalli). He has acquired Masters in Arts. He studied Philosophy & Theology at St. Paul's Seminary, Tiruchirapalli and M.Th at [Maryknoll School of theology](/source/Maryknoll), [New York](/source/New_York_City), [USA](/source/United_States).

## Priesthood

He was ordained a priest on 25 May 1977.

## Episcopate

He was appointed Bishop of Dindigul on 11 April 2016 by [Pope Francis](/source/Pope_Francis) and ordained on 22 May 2016 by [Salvatore Pennacchio](/source/Salvatore_Pennacchio)[5][6]
