**Thomas Mannack** (born in 1958) is a German [classical archaeologist](/source/Classical_archaeology).

Mannack obtained his [doctorate](/source/Doctorate) in 1992 with [Konrad Schauenburg](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Konrad_Schauenburg&action=edit&redlink=1) [[de](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konrad_Schauenburg)] at the [University of Kiel](/source/University_of_Kiel). The thema of his [dissertation](/source/Dissertation) was *Beazleys spätere und späteste Manieristen*.[1] The thesis was later published in English by [Oxford University Press](/source/Oxford_University_Press).[2] He is a specialist in the field of ancient ceramics. He is in charge of the [Beazley Archive](/source/Beazley_Archive) database and teaches classical [iconography](/source/Iconography) at the [University of Oxford](/source/University_of_Oxford).[3]

Mannack is chair of the British [Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum](/source/Corpus_Vasorum_Antiquorum) project conducted by the British Academy, and has coauthored CVA volumes on collections of Greek Vases in Winchester College,[4] and Harrow School.[5]
