# Thomas Comer

**Thomas Comer** (1790–1862) was a British [stage actor](/source/Stage_actor). Comer was born in [Bath](/source/Bath,_Somerset) in [Somerset](/source/Somerset). After appearing in the [West End](/source/West_End_theatre) at the [Drury Lane](/source/Theatre_Royal,_Drury_Lane) and [Covent Garden](/source/Theatre_Royal,_Covent_Garden) theatres, he emigrated to the United States and established himself as a leading [music director](/source/Music_director), working at the [Boston Theatre](/source/Boston_Theatre) for many years.[1][2]
