# Thomas Clarion

**Thomas Clarion** (born 15 March 1982) is a French male visually impaired [cross-country skier](/source/Paralympic_cross-country_skiing) and [biathlete](/source/Paralympic_biathlon) who is also well known as a [physiotherapist](/source/Physiotherapist).[1] Clarion became blind at the age of 20.[2] He has competed at the [Winter Paralympics](/source/Winter_Paralympics) in [2010](/source/2010_Winter_Paralympics), [2014](/source/2014_Winter_Paralympics) and [2018](/source/2018_Winter_Paralympics).[3]

## Career

Thomas Clarion competed in his first Paralympic event in [2010](/source/2010_Winter_Paralympics) and went medalless during the competition. He claimed 2 bronze medals at the [2014 Winter Paralympics](/source/2014_Winter_Paralympics) in the [men's 10km cross-country skiing event](/source/Cross-country_skiing_at_the_2014_Winter_Paralympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_10_km) and [4 x 2.5 km relay open event](/source/Cross-country_skiing_at_the_2014_Winter_Paralympics_%E2%80%93_4_x_2.5_kilometre_open_relay).[4]

He went onto represent [France at the 2018 Winter Paralympics](/source/France_at_the_2018_Winter_Paralympics), his third Paralympic event and managed to claim a bronze medal in the [men's 20km free visually impaired cross-country skiing event](/source/Cross-country_skiing_at_the_2018_Winter_Paralympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_20_kilometre_free) which was also his third Paralympic medal.[5][6][7] He claimed his first Paralympic gold medal during the [2018 Winter Paralympics](/source/2018_Winter_Paralympics) after winning the men's 4 x 2.5 km relay open team event for [France](/source/France_at_the_2018_Winter_Paralympics) along with other members including [Benjamin Daviet](/source/Benjamin_Daviet) and [Anthony Chalençon](/source/Anthony_Chalen%C3%A7on).[8]
