***The Prompter*** ([Norwegian](/source/Norwegian_language): *Suffløsen*) is a [1999](/source/1999_in_film) [Norwegian](/source/Cinema_of_Norway) film directed by [Hilde Heier](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hilde_Heier&action=edit&redlink=1). It was Norway's official [Best Foreign Language Film submission](/source/List_of_submissions_to_the_72nd_Academy_Awards_for_Best_Foreign_Language_Film) at the [72nd Academy Awards](/source/72nd_Academy_Awards), but did not manage to receive a nomination.[1]
