**"The Plausible Impossible"** is an episode of the *[Disneyland](/source/Walt_Disney_anthology_television_series)* television program, originally broadcast on October 31, 1956.[1]

[Walt Disney](/source/Walt_Disney) explains how drawings and animation make things that are impossible seem plausible, as evidenced in ancient history (i.e., [Egyptian gods](/source/Egyptian_gods), dragons, and various creatures from [Greek mythology](/source/Greek_mythology)) and various cartoons with [Mickey Mouse](/source/Mickey_Mouse) and [Donald Duck](/source/Donald_Duck). This episode also includes an unfinished form of one scene from *[Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs](/source/Snow_White_and_the_Seven_Dwarfs_(1937_film))* (1937) that ultimately ended up on the cutting room floor and was not used in the final film. This episode culminates with the "[Night on Bald Mountain](/source/Night_on_Bald_Mountain)" segment of *[Fantasia](/source/Fantasia_(1940_film))* (1940).

The episode features the cartoons *[Donald's Cousin Gus](/source/Donald's_Cousin_Gus)* and *[Thru the Mirror](/source/Thru_the_Mirror)*.
