It is a historical play dealing with [John Christie](/source/John_Christie_(opera_manager)), his founding of [Glyndebourne Opera](/source/Glyndebourne_Opera) and his romance and marriage with [Audrey Mildmay](/source/Audrey_Mildmay), the eponymous soprano.
