***The Lost Shoe*** ([German](/source/German_language): ***Der verlorene Schuh***) is a 1923 [German](/source/Cinema_of_Germany) [silent](/source/Silent_film) [fantasy film](/source/Fantasy_film) directed by [Ludwig Berger](/source/Ludwig_Berger_(director)) and starring [Helga Thomas](/source/Helga_Thomas), [Paul Hartmann](/source/Paul_Hartmann_(actor)) and [Mady Christians](/source/Mady_Christians). Its plot is loosely based on that of [Cinderella](/source/Cinderella). It was shot at the [Babelsberg Studios](/source/Babelsberg_Studios) in [Berlin](/source/Berlin). The film's sets were designed by the [art director](/source/Art_director) [Rudolf Bamberger](/source/Rudolf_Bamberger). The film premiered on 5 December 1923 at the [Ufa-Palast am Zoo](/source/Ufa-Palast_am_Zoo) in Berlin.[1] It was produced by [Decla-Bioscop](/source/Decla-Bioscop) which was by then part of the large [UFA](/source/Universum_Film_AG) conglomerate.
