**The Lively Ones** , originally **The Surfmen**, were an American [surf music](/source/Surf_music) band from southern [California](/source/California) in the 1960s. They played live mostly in California and [Arizona](/source/Arizona). They recorded for [Del-Fi](/source/Del-Fi) records with production from [Bob Keane](/source/Bob_Keane). They recorded mostly [cover](/source/Cover_version) songs, but there were a few originals.

Their 1963 song "Surf Rider" (written by [Nokie Edwards](/source/Nokie_Edwards) from [The Ventures](/source/The_Ventures)) was featured in the final sequence as well as the end credits of [Quentin Tarantino](/source/Quentin_Tarantino)'s 1994 film *[Pulp Fiction](/source/Pulp_Fiction_(film))*.[1] The Lively Ones were interviewed by the [Pipeline Instrumental Review](/source/Pipeline_Instrumental_Review) in 1997 which also showcased their discography.[2]
