'''The John Popper Project''' (formally '''the John Popper Project Featuring DJ Logic''') is an American [jam band](/source/jam_band) that plays a combination of [rock](/source/Rock_music), [hip-hop](/source/hip-hop), and [improvisational](/source/Musical_improvisation) [jazz](/source/jazz). Its lineup consists of [John Popper](/source/John_Popper) of [Blues Traveler](/source/Blues_Traveler) on vocals and harmonica, [DJ Logic](/source/DJ_Logic) on [turntables](/source/Phonograph), [Tad Kinchla](/source/Tad_Kinchla) on bass guitar, and Marcus Bleecker on drums.

The group formed out of a [jam session](/source/jam_session) in [San Francisco](/source/San_Francisco) in December 2003 that featured Popper, [Rob Wasserman](/source/Rob_Wasserman) of [RatDog](/source/RatDog), and DJ Logic.
