'''The Hectics''' (1958–1962) was an Indian school band. The members of the band were Farrokh Bulsara (later known as [Freddie Mercury](/source/Freddie_Mercury)) (pianist), [Derrick Branche](/source/Derrick_Branche) (guitarist), Bruce Murray (lead vocalist and guitarist), Victory Rana (drummer) and Farang Irani (bass). [Freddie Mercury](/source/Freddie_Mercury) (1946–1991) went on to become the lead vocalist of the rock band [Queen](/source/Queen_(band)).

[Derrick Branche](/source/Derrick_Branche) (born 1947) went on to appear in [British films](/source/Cinema_of_the_United_Kingdom) such as ''[My Beautiful Laundrette](/source/My_Beautiful_Laundrette)'' and television shows such as ''[Only When I Laugh](/source/Only_When_I_Laugh_(TV_series))'', ''[The Comic Strip](/source/The_Comic_Strip) Presents...'' and ''[Father Ted](/source/Father_Ted)''.

His step-son Guy Griffin plays with British rock band [The Quireboys](/source/The_Quireboys).
