**The Exploders** are an [alternative rock](/source/Alternative_rock) band from [Lake Bolac, Victoria](/source/Lake_Bolac%2C_Victoria), Australia.

## Biography

The Exploders formed in 2004 and were picked up by the label [Rubber Records](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rubber_Records&action=edit&redlink=1) in 2005, appearing at the [Falls Festival](/source/Falls_Festival) the following year. They released their self-titled debut album on 21 March 2006.[1] They toured extensively in 2006 and appeared as the house band on [Rove Live](/source/Rove_(TV_series)).

In the latter half of 2006, they flew to [Dallas](/source/Dallas), Texas to record their second album with producer Stuart Sikes ([Modest Mouse](/source/Modest_Mouse), [The White Stripes](/source/The_White_Stripes), [Cat Power](/source/Cat_Power), [Hot Hot Heat](/source/Hot_Hot_Heat)), later completing the album in [Melbourne](/source/Melbourne%2C_Victoria) with Dave Parkin ([Snowman](/source/Snowman_(band)), [Bob Evans](/source/Kevin_Mitchell_(musician)), [Jebediah](/source/Jebediah)). The album, *Easy and the Sun* was released 4 August 2007.

They have appeared at [Splendour in the Grass](/source/Splendour_in_the_Grass) (2006), [The Great Escape](/source/The_Great_Escape_(festival)) (2007), [Pyramid Rock Festival](/source/Pyramid_Rock_Festival) (2007) and the [Falls Festival](/source/Falls_Festival) (2006 & 2007).[2] The Exploders have performed with [You Am I](/source/You_Am_I), The Bees and [The Zutons](/source/The_Zutons), and have undertaken national tours supporting [The Panda Band](/source/The_Panda_Band), [Dallas Crane](/source/Dallas_Crane) and [Evermore](/source/Evermore_(band)).
