***The Delay*** (Spanish: *La demora*) is a 2012 Uruguayan [drama film](/source/Drama_film) directed by [Rodrigo Plá](/source/Rodrigo_Pl%C3%A1). The film was selected as the Uruguayan entry for the [Best Foreign Language Oscar](/source/Academy_Award_for_Best_Foreign_Language_Film) at the [85th Academy Awards](/source/85th_Academy_Awards), but it did not make the final shortlist.[1]
