For the 1929 play by Ernest Raymond, see [*The Berg* (play)](/source/The_Berg_(play)).

**The Berg** was a proposed [landscaping](/source/Landscaping) project by [German](/source/Germans) [architect](/source/Architect) [Jakob Tigges](/source/Jakob_Tigges) to build the world's largest [artificial mountain](/source/Artificial_mountain) at the location of the present [Tempelhof](/source/Berlin_Tempelhof_Airport) [airport](/source/Airport) in [Berlin](/source/Berlin), [Germany](/source/Germany).[1][2] Plans to construct a 1,000-metre (3,300-foot) [mountain](/source/Mountain) that could serve as a recreation area and wildlife refuge were not pursued due to budget and logistic considerations.[3]
