The **Thames Aerodrome** serves the town of [Thames](/source/Thames%2C_New_Zealand), in the [Waikato](/source/Waikato) region of the [North Island](/source/North_Island) of [New Zealand](/source/New_Zealand). It is 3 km south of the town of Thames. The Aerodrome is named in honour of former Thames resident Air Chief Marshal Sir [Keith Park](/source/Keith_Park), Commander of 11 Group Fighter Command during the [Battle of Britain](/source/Battle_of_Britain).[1]
