**Thakurgaon-3** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh). The current [Member of Parliament](/source/Member_of_Parliament) in this constituency is [Jahidur Rahman](/source/Jahidur_Rahman) of [Bangladesh Nationalist Party](/source/Bangladesh_Nationalist_Party).

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Pirganj Upazila](/source/Pirganj_Upazila%2C_Thakurgaon), Ranisankail Municipality, and six [union parishads](/source/Union_Parishad) of [Ranisankail Upazila](/source/Ranisankail_Upazila): Bachor, Hossain Gaon, Lehemba, Nonduar, Nekmarad, and Raton.[1][2]

## History

The constituency was created in 1984 from the Dinajpur-5 constituency when the former Dinajpur District was split into three districts: [Panchagarh](/source/Panchagarh_District), [Thakurgaon](/source/Thakurgaon_District), and [Dinajpur](/source/Dinajpur_District%2C_Bangladesh).[3]
