**Teshniz** ([Persian](/source/Persian_language): تشنيز)[a] is a village in [Kharaji Rural District](/source/Kharaji_Rural_District) of the [Central District](/source/Central_District_(Kiar_County)) in [Kiar County](/source/Kiar_County), [Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari](/source/Chaharmahal_and_Bakhtiari_province) province, [Iran](/source/Iran).[4]

## Demographics

### Ethnicity

The village is populated by [Lurs](/source/Lurs).[5]

### Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 1,639 in 433 households, when it was in [Kiar-e Gharbi Rural District](/source/Kiar-e_Gharbi_Rural_District)[b] of the former [Kiar District](/source/Kiar_District) in [Shahrekord County](/source/Shahrekord_County).[7] The following census in 2011 counted 1,584 people in 490 households,[8] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of [Kiar County](/source/Kiar_County). The rural district was transferred to the new [Central District](/source/Central_District_(Kiar_County)).[9] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,538 people in 494 households.[2]

In 2023, Teshniz was transferred to [Kharaji Rural District](/source/Kharaji_Rural_District) created in the district.[4]
