**Teonni Key** (born July 10, 2003) is an American professional [basketball](/source/Basketball) player for the [Toronto Tempo](/source/Toronto_Tempo) of the [Women's National Basketball Association](/source/Women's_National_Basketball_Association) (WNBA). She played [college basketball](/source/College_basketball) at [North Carolina](/source/North_Carolina_Tar_Heels_women's_basketball) and [Kentucky](/source/Kentucky_Wildcats_women's_basketball).

## High school career

Key attended [Cary High School](/source/Cary_High_School) in [Cary, North Carolina](/source/Cary%2C_North_Carolina). She was ranked the No. 9 player in her class by ESPN and selected to compete in the [2021 McDonald's All-American Girls Game](/source/2021_McDonald's_All-American_Girls_Game).[1][2]

## College career

Key verbally committed to play [college basketball](/source/College_basketball) at [North Carolina](/source/North_Carolina_Tar_Heels_women's_basketball) on June 7, 2020.[3] She sustained an ACL tear in preseason scrimmage and missed the [2021–22 season](/source/2021%E2%80%9322_NCAA_Division_I_women's_basketball_season).[4] During the [2022–23 season](/source/2022%E2%80%9323_NCAA_Division_I_women's_basketball_season), in her red-shirt freshman year, she averaged 2.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. During the [2023–24 season](/source/2023%E2%80%9324_NCAA_Division_I_women's_basketball_season), in her red-shirt sophomore year, she appeared in 23 games and averaged 2.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per games. She missed the first ten games of the season due to a lower body injury.[1]

On April 15, 2024, she transferred to [Kentucky](/source/Kentucky_Wildcats_women's_basketball).[5][6] During the [2024–25 season](/source/2024%E2%80%9325_NCAA_Division_I_women's_basketball_season), in her junior year, she averaged 11.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. Her 1.7 blocks per game rank third in program history.
