**Televés [S.A.U.](/source/S.A._(corporation))** is a Spanish manufacturer of [telecommunications](/source/Telecommunications) equipment for buildings and homes. The company specializes in the reception and distribution of [radio](/source/Radio) and television signals.

Founded in 1958, Televés was originally an antenna manufacturing workshop. Its founders were Ricardo Bescansa, Amador Beiras and Domingo Carrascal. Its headquarters are located in [Santiago de Compostela](/source/Santiago_de_Compostela). While maintaining the core business of manufacturing equipment for the reception, distribution and analysis of radio and television signals, the company has diversified into businesses including professional lighting with [LED](/source/Light-emitting_diode) technology, [audiovisual services](/source/Audiovisual_services) via [fiber optic](/source/Optical_fiber) and wireless networks for hotels and buildings in the [hospitality industry](/source/Hospitality_industry) and [wavelength-division multiplexing](/source/Wavelength-division_multiplexing) for the Spanish [healthcare](/source/Health_care) sector.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

Televés is a multinational corporation comprising around twenty companies, with 11 international subsidiaries in: [Portugal](/source/Portugal), [France](/source/France), the [United Kingdom](/source/United_Kingdom), [Italy](/source/Italy), [Germany](/source/Germany), [Poland](/source/Poland), [Scandinavia](/source/Scandinavia), [Russia](/source/Russia), the [United States](/source/United_States), [China](/source/China), and the [United Arab Emirates](/source/United_Arab_Emirates). Through an extensive distributor network, the company delivers its products to more than 100 countries in five continents. In 1995, Televés joined the [DVB](/source/DVB), an international [consortium](/source/Consortium) of companies that promotes digital television technology standards.[1]

As of 2021, Televés' earnings were estimated to be €212 million, and an estimated gain of 800 employees.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

## Business model

Logistics center in Oroso.

The company operates its own certification and [quality control](/source/Quality_control) laboratories, and in 2017 began adapting to the [smart factory](/source/Smart_manufacturing) model under the [Industry 4.0 framework](/source/Fourth_Industrial_Revolution).[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

As a specialist in equipment for receiving and distributing broadcast television signals, Televés was central to the [digital television transition](/source/Digital_television_transition) in Spain across much of Europe.[*[speculation?](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#CRYSTAL)*]

The Televés brand is closely linked to satellite dishes painted in the characteristic corporate orange color, which corresponds to Pantone 137C or RAL 1007.[2] In this sense, Televés has been the first Spanish company to obtain a [color trademark](/source/Colour_trade_mark), being the exclusive user of this color in terrestrial antennas.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] In July 2013, one of these antennas became part of the collection of the [National Museum of Science and Technology](/source/National_Museum_of_Science_and_Technology_(Spain)) at its headquarters in [A Coruña](/source/A_Coru%C3%B1a).[3]

In 2014, Televés entered the [health care](/source/Health_care) sector, with the development of a product line for the care of elderly and dependent people along with a project to develop a [smart room](/source/Home_automation) for the [Galician Healthcare Service](/source/Galician_Healthcare_Service).[4][5]
