In [Greek mythology](/source/Greek_mythology), **Tectaphus** ([Ancient Greek](/source/Ancient_Greek_language): Τέκταφος) may refer to the following characters:

- Tectaphus, another name of [Tectamus](/source/Tectamus),[1] the son of [Dorus](/source/Dorus_(son_of_Hellen)), who migrated to [Crete](/source/Crete) where he married [Cretheus](/source/Cretheus)’ daughter and ruled over the said island.[2] By her, Tectaphus became the father of [Asterius](/source/Asterion_(king_of_Crete)), his successor and future husband of [Europa](/source/Europa_(consort_of_Zeus)).[3]

- Tectaphus, one of the [Lapiths](/source/Lapiths) who fought against the centaurs, being killed by [Phaecomes](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Phaecomes&action=edit&redlink=1). He was son of [Olenus](/source/Olenus).[4]

- Tectaphus, a chieftain who armed himself against [Dionysus](/source/Dionysus) in the Indian War. Once, when King [Deriades](/source/Deriades) of India kept him in prison, he had been saved from death by suckling the milk from the breast of his daughter [Eerie](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Eerie_(mythology)&action=edit&redlink=1) (similar story is that of [Mycon](/source/Myconus_(mythology))). Tectaphus was killed by [Eurymedon](/source/Eurymedon_(mythology)).[5]
