**Taylor Ryan Charters** (born 2 October 2001) is an English professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [Left Back](/source/Left_Back) or [midfielder](/source/Midfielder) for [Scottish League One](/source/Scottish_League_One) club [Queen of the South](/source/Queen_of_the_South_F.C.).

## Career

Born in [Whitehaven](/source/Whitehaven),[3] Charters signed a two-year contract with [Carlisle United](/source/Carlisle_United_F.C.), his first professional contract, following a scholarship period at the club.[4] He joined [Northern Premier League](/source/Northern_Premier_League) Division One North West side [Workington](/source/Workington_A.F.C.) on a month-long loan in November 2019, and made 3 appearances for the club in all competitions.[5][6] Charters made his senior debut for Carlisle on 1 January 2020 as a second-half substitute for [Mohammed Sagaf](/source/Mohammed_Sagaf) in a 4–1 defeat away to [Crewe Alexandra](/source/Crewe_Alexandra_F.C.).[7] He made a further 8 appearances for Carlisle in all competitions across the [2019–20 season](/source/2019%E2%80%9320_Carlisle_United_F.C._season),[8] with Charters praised for his performances.[9]

On 14 January 2022, he joined [National League North](/source/National_League_North) club [Gateshead](/source/Gateshead_F.C.) on a month-long loan.[10] This loan was later extended to the end of the season[11] as Charters was part of the Gateshead squad that won the National League North title.[12]

In May 2022, Charters signed a new one-year deal with Carlisle.[13]

On 27 January 2025, Charters joined [Scottish League One](/source/Scottish_League_One) club [Queen of the South](/source/Queen_of_the_South_F.C.) on loan for the remainder of the season.[14] On 30 May 2025, after a successful loan spell, Charters signed a two-year permanent deal with the *Doonhamers*.[15]
