He made his international debut for New Zealand in 2012 in a [One Day International](/source/One_Day_International) against Zimbabwe. == Domestic career ==
He was the leading wicket-taker in the [2017–18 Ford Trophy](/source/2017%E2%80%9318_Ford_Trophy), with 21 dismissals in ten matches for Auckland<ref name="1718Ford">{{Cite web|url=http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/records/bowling/most_wickets_career.html?id=12047;type=tournament |title=The Ford Trophy, 2017/18:Most Wickets |accessdate=24 February 2018 |publisher=ESPNcricinfo}}</ref> as Auckland took the title from Nethula's former team, the [Central Stags](/source/Central_Stags). [Jeet Raval](/source/Jeet_Raval) commented: "It's a big game, big players step up and Tarun has been a big player for the Aces for the last four to five years and long may it continue".
