***Target in the Clouds*** (German: ***Ziel in den Wolken***) is a 1939 German [drama film](/source/Drama_film) directed by [Wolfgang Liebeneiner](/source/Wolfgang_Liebeneiner) and starring [Albert Matterstock](/source/Albert_Matterstock), [Leny Marenbach](/source/Leny_Marenbach) and [Brigitte Horney](/source/Brigitte_Horney). It was based on a novel by [Hans Rabl](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hans_Rabl&action=edit&redlink=1). The film portrays the struggles of the fictional German [aviation](/source/Aviation) pioneer Walter von Suhr, an officer in the pre-[First World War](/source/First_World_War) German army who saw the potential for military aircraft.[1]

The film's sets were designed by the [art directors](/source/Art_director) [Otto Erdmann](/source/Otto_Erdmann_(art_director)), [Hans Sohnle](/source/Hans_Sohnle) and [Wilhelm Vorwerg](/source/Wilhelm_Vorwerg).
