**Tangail-1** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh). [Fakir Mahbub Anam Swapan](/source/Fakir_Mahbub_Anam_Swapan) is the incumbent member of Parliament from this constituency.

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Dhanbari](/source/Dhanbari_Upazila) and [Madhupur](/source/Madhupur_Upazila) upazilas.[2][3]

## History

The constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973.
