**Tananger Church** ([Norwegian](/source/Norwegian_language): *Tananger kirke*) is a [parish church](/source/Parish_church) of the [Church of Norway](/source/Church_of_Norway) in [Sola Municipality](/source/Sola_Municipality) in [Rogaland](/source/Rogaland) county, [Norway](/source/Norway). It is located in the village of [Tananger](/source/Tananger). It is the church for the Tananger [parish](/source/Parish) which is part of the [Tungenes prosti](/source/Tungenes_prosti) ([deanery](/source/Deanery)) in the [Diocese of Stavanger](/source/Diocese_of_Stavanger). The large, brick church was built in a [fan-shaped](/source/Churches_in_Norway#Floor_plan) design in 2002 using designs by the [architect](/source/Architect) Olav Urstad. The church seats about 400 people.[1][2]

## History

The church was built in 2002 to replace the [Old Tananger Church](/source/Old_Tananger_Church), which was later renamed *Tananger Chapel*. The new church was [consecrated](/source/Consecrate) on 1 September 2002.
