**Taj Annan** (born 16 August 2003) is an Australian professional [rugby league](/source/Rugby_league) footballer who plays as a [winger](/source/Rugby_league_positions#Wing) for the [Newcastle Knights](/source/Newcastle_Knights) in the [National Rugby League](/source/National_Rugby_League).

He previously played [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) as a [fly-half](/source/Fly-half_(rugby_union)), [centre](/source/Centre_(rugby_union)) or [fullback](/source/Fullback_(rugby_union)) for [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) team [Queensland Reds](/source/Queensland_Reds).[1]

## Early career

Originally from [Merewether, New South Wales](/source/Merewether%2C_New_South_Wales), Annan moved to and studied at [Brisbane Boys' College](/source/Brisbane_Boys'_College).[2]

## Rugby union career

Having left school, Annan joined [Easts](/source/Easts_Tigers_Rugby_Union).[3] Annan was named in the Reds development squad for the [2022 Super Rugby Pacific season](/source/2022_Super_Rugby_Pacific_season),[4] before being named in the side for Round 1 of the [2023 Super Rugby Pacific season](/source/2023_Super_Rugby_Pacific_season), where he made his debut against the [Hurricanes](/source/Hurricanes_(rugby_union)).[5]

He was named in the [Australia U20](/source/Australia_national_under-20_rugby_union_team) squad in 2023, while he will also move to join [Souths](/source/Souths_Rugby).[6]

## Rugby league career

In September 2024, Annan made the decision to switch to [rugby league](/source/Rugby_league), signing a 3-year contract with [National Rugby League](/source/National_Rugby_League) team and hometown club, [Newcastle Knights](/source/Newcastle_Knights) starting in 2025.[7]
