The **Taharua River** is a river of the northwestern [Hawke's Bay region](/source/Hawke's_Bay_region) of [New Zealand](/source/New_Zealand)'s [North Island](/source/North_Island). It flows south from its origins 25 kilometres southwest of [Taupō](/source/Taup%C5%8D) to reach the [Mohaka River](/source/Mohaka_River) of which it is one of the earliest tributaries.
