The '''Tagol Murut language''' is spoken by the [Tagol](/source/Tagol_Murut_people) (highland) subgroup of the [Murut people](/source/Murut_people), and serves as the [lingua franca](/source/lingua_franca) of the whole group. It belongs to the [Bornean](/source/Bornean_languages) subdivision of the [Austronesian](/source/Austronesian_languages) language family. Tagol Murut people can be found in Sabah and Sarawak, usually in areas around [Sipitang](/source/Sipitang), [Tenom](/source/Tenom), [Lawas](/source/Lawas), [Limbang](/source/Limbang), and along the border areas shared with [Brunei](/source/Brunei) and [Indonesia](/source/Indonesia).
