**Thaddeus Brown** is an American sports executive who is the [chief executive officer](/source/Chief_executive_officer) (CEO) of [Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment](/source/Harris_Blitzer_Sports_%26_Entertainment), which includes the [Philadelphia 76ers](/source/Philadelphia_76ers) of the [National Basketball Association](/source/National_Basketball_Association) (NBA) and the [New Jersey Devils](/source/New_Jersey_Devils) of the [National Hockey League](/source/National_Hockey_League) (NHL). He was CEO of the NBA's [Houston Rockets](/source/Houston_Rockets) and the [Toyota Center](/source/Toyota_Center). Brown is a graduate of [Colgate University](/source/Colgate_University).[1]

## Career

### Houston Rockets and Toyota Center

Brown joined the [Houston Rockets](/source/Houston_Rockets) as their Vice President of Corporate Development in 2002 before being named CEO in October 2006, a role which also covered the [Toyota Center](/source/Toyota_Center).[2] The Toyota Center hosted the [2006](/source/2006_NBA_All-Star_Game) and [2013 NBA All-Star Games](/source/2013_NBA_All-Star_Game). He played a role in signing [James Harden](/source/James_Harden) in 2012 and keeping him from free agency in 2017. Brown was also responsible for trading for [Chris Paul](/source/Chris_Paul) in 2017 before trading him for [Russell Westbrook](/source/Russell_Westbrook) in 2019.[3] During the [COVID-19 pandemic](/source/COVID-19_pandemic), Brown was actively involved in the organization's efforts to support front line workers and the local community.[4][5][6] Brown stepped down as CEO in April 2021.[7]
