**TMA Engineering Ltd**,[1] is an engineering business based in [Erdington](/source/Erdington), [West Midlands](/source/West_Midlands_(county)), who supply services around power presses, but are best known for their sideline in building and overhauling miniature [steam locomotives](/source/Steam_locomotive).

Most of the railway work that they undertake is in the 7¼" [gauge](/source/Track_gauge), but they have also overhauled several [15"](/source/Fifteen-inch_gauge_railway) gauge locomotives, and have built five substantial 15" gauge diesel locomotives. The [Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway](/source/Romney,_Hythe_and_Dymchurch_Railway) in [Kent](/source/Kent) has two TMA 15" gauge diesels, *Captain Howey* and *John Southland*;[2] The [Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway](/source/Ravenglass_and_Eskdale_Railway) in [Cumbria](/source/Cumbria) has one, *[Douglas Ferreira](/source/Douglas_Ferreira_(locomotive))*[3] and the [Shuzenji Romney Railway](/source/Shuzenji_Romney_Railway) in Japan has two, *John Southland II* and *City of Birmingham*.[4] One of the latest projects that the company was to undertake has been the overhauling of the R&ER steam locomotive *River Mite* over the Winter of 2006/07.
