## Kartatoo

Kartatoo is a public transport pass system introduced during the first term of 2007. The *Kartatoo* card was introduced[1] using an optional subscription system to [Urban networks](/source/Communaut%C3%A9_d'agglom%C3%A9ration) at a reduced price. This system is offered to TER [commuters](/source/Commuter) (*Via pro* for [labourers](/source/Manual_labour)) and allows users to purchase a monthly ticket on the [Montpellier Agglomération](/source/Communaut%C3%A9_d'agglom%C3%A9ration_Montpellier_Agglom%C3%A9ration) and [Nîmes Métropole](/source/Communaut%C3%A9_d'agglom%C3%A9ration_N%C3%AEmes_M%C3%A9tropole) networks. The scheme should be open to students (*Via études*) from September 2007 and to all from the end of 2008.[1]

These new measures also come with the creation of 3 new fare zones between [Montpellier](/source/Montpellier) and [Nîmes](/source/N%C3%AEmes). West to East, the three zones are centred on Montpellier (from the [station](/source/Train_station) [Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone](/source/Villeneuve-l%C3%A8s-Maguelone) to that of [Saint-Brès](/source/Saint-Br%C3%A8s%2C_H%C3%A9rault)–[Mudaison](/source/Mudaison)), [Lunel](/source/Lunel%2C_H%C3%A9rault) ([Valergues](/source/Valergues)–[Lunel-Vieil](/source/Lunel-Vieil) to [Uchaud](/source/Uchaud)) and Nîmes ([Milhaud](/source/Milhaud%2C_Gard) to [Manduel](/source/Manduel)–[Redessan](/source/Redessan)).[1]

The affected area will be extended towards the West to [Agde](/source/Agde), [Béziers](/source/B%C3%A9ziers) and [Narbonne](/source/Narbonne) during 2008 with all inhabitants of [Languedoc-Roussillon](/source/Languedoc-Roussillon) concerned from 2009.[1]
