# The state that exists when there is complete assurance that under all conditions an [IT](/source/Information_technology) system is based on the logical correctness and reliability of the [operating system](/source/operating_system), the logical completeness of the [hardware](/source/computer_hardware) and [software](/source/software) that implement the protection mechanisms, and [data integrity](/source/data_integrity).
