# Sycosis

**Sycosis** is an inflammation of [hair follicles](/source/Hair_follicle), especially of the [beard](/source/Beard) area,[1][2][3] and generally classified as [papulopustular](/source/Papulopustular)[1][3] and chronic.[2]
