**Susek** ([Serbian Cyrillic](/source/Serbian_Cyrillic_alphabet): Сусек) is a village in [Serbia](/source/Serbia). It is situated in the [Beočin](/source/Beo%C4%8Din) municipality, in the [Vojvodina](/source/Vojvodina) province. Although, the village is geographically located in [Syrmia](/source/Syrmia), it is part of the [South Bačka District](/source/South_Ba%C4%8Dka_District). The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbering 847 people (2022 census).

## History

Following Ottoman retreat from the region, the [Lordship of Ilok and Upper Syrmia](/source/Lordship_of_Ilok_and_Upper_Syrmia) was established, and the village became part of its domain.[1]

During the Axis occupation in World War II, 252 civilians were killed in Susek by fascists.
